Quarterly Event: “Venture Capital Trends in the Age of AI”

We hosted our quarterly event at the BStartup Hub, bringing our community together to share Faraday's latest updates and explore the impact of AI on Venture Capital.

During the Faraday update, we highlighted the quarter's new investments and follow-on investments, progress on several exit processes, and the final closing of Faraday Europa II, FCR, at €32M.

We then introduced the CEOs of our three latest investments: Felipe Areal (Loud Intelligence), whose technology uses AI to optimise digital advertising; Raúl Reyes (Insectius), which transforms organic waste into protein for animal feed; and Patrick Cavanagh-Butler (Punchy Drinks), our first investment in the UK, specialising in functional electrolyte drinks.

The highlight of the event was an interview titled "Venture Capital Trends in the Age of AI" with Miguel Arias, an entrepreneur and investor with experience at CARTO, Telefónica and K Fund. We explored how AI is lowering barriers to entry and reshaping competitive advantages and traditional investment models, making proprietary data, industry expertise, distribution and founder credibility increasingly important.

We also discussed AI's impact on employment and inequality, as well as Europe's challenges around competitiveness and digital sovereignty. Miguel concluded by introducing his book, El latido de tu startup (trans. The heartbeat of your startup), sharing practical insights on leadership, team management and company culture.

The event wrapped up with a networking cocktail, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with the speakers and sample Punchy Drinks products.
